I’ve been retooling my Instagram to make it a bigger part of my social media outreach. After a lot of thought, I decided to use it to offer a deeper look into my life and my interests. I’m more than just a dark shadowing figure behind a keyboard, and I think a lot of people might be interested in the man behind the madness. So I’ll be using Instagram for showcasing everything from the video games I play to the beers I drank and everything in between. Plus all the same writing-related posts as before. Day one of the special edition @kickstarter was a great success! The campaign funded in 15 minutes and we hit the first stretch goal, unlocking a solid metal bookmark for all of the book box tiers. I should have some samples in hand later this week to share.

The image showcases one of the vellum inserts with artwork by @anglobotomy. He did an amazing job with Myrtle, everyone's favorite sassy dwarven druid.

I'll be sharing more content over the next 20 days, and have some pretty cool stretch goals planned for the campaign. Next up will be a 5x7 art print with the artwork from the new cover.

I recently discovered that July was #disabiltypridemonth

As someone who has a chronic illness and has used it as inspiration in my own writing, it’s great to know there is a community out there for illnesses that many of us deal with in private.

During the 4 years before I was diagnosed, I had three surgeries, daily chronic pain, and some of the lowest moments of not knowing why or how this was happening to me. I feel very lucky that over the past 2 years, not only was I diagnosed, but the bi-monthly infusions keep most of my symptoms at bay.

I’m even more grateful that so many people have found joy in a story about living with chronic illness.

I’ve been forcing myself to listen to audiobooks

I’ve been forcing myself to listen to audiobooks so that I can read more this year. Here are some of my recent listens. Really enjoyed Third Eye!

We had to go in for a 3rd procedure on Lawson’s

We had to go in for a 3rd procedure on Lawson’s eye. This one has a 90-95% success rate, so fingers crossed it’s the last.

Right now, he’s out like a light. Our follow-up is scheduled 3 weeks from now.
